Let’s Fill Up These Vessels! – Thanks-Giving Offering 2019

In 2 Kings 4, the story of the widow and her son is told in which she only has 1 small vessel of oil left to feed her family. The prophet Elisha tells her to go collect empty vessels from all her neighbors in preparation of the miracle God was going to do through Elisha.

Just as the widow stepped out in faith and saw God bless and provide for her and her son, so we are asking and preparing for God to do the same. For this year’s Thanks-Giving offering which will be going towards the renovation of the fellowship hall bathrooms, we have dozens of various sized jars labeled to represent the many items and materials that will be needed in the renovation.

The prices these jars represent range anywhere from $35 to nearly $300. In addition to the bathroom project, we’re also designating $250 of the offering to send thousands of tracts to Mexico.

In order to accomplish a project of this size and cost, we all must pray and be willing to obey what God directs our hearts to give. Would you pray about a figure that God would have you give? If we as a church will come together and earnestly pray and sacrificially give, we can see God provide in ways we would never imagine.

“Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.”
