It is with sadness and yet joy for him that we announce that Pastor Wallace Strawn, the founding pastor of Calvary Baptist Church passed away on January 13, 2017 in Ocala, Florida where he resided. Now in heaven with his Saviour he is free from illness and pain.  Pastor Strawn had battled cancer the past couple of months. Calvary was blessed to have him here just a little more than 7 months ago for Heritage Sunday, June 5, 2016. What a great time we had that weekend as he shared memories and pictures of our church’s beginning. He was a delightful, gracious man with a big heart for this church and the Lord’s work. One of the things he conveyed was the gratification he felt that Calvary Baptist was still standing on the KJV Bible and continuing down the old fashioned path of Biblical principles. What a Godly warrior, old workhorse for the Lord he was. He is missed already. Please pray for his  2 daughters and their families during this time of sadness.
